TONY TESTA
American (b. 1987)
Mixed Media Artist
With an early passion for choreography, Tony spent his formative years in a small dance studio, quietly testing the boundaries of humanity’s most beautiful quality: motion. After passing out hard copies of his homemade choreography reel, he received a phone call that one of his DVD’s had made it out of northern Colorado, and into the hands of Janet Jackson.
This big break brought him to LA in 2005, where he’d spend the next 2 decades making projects for Kylie Minogue, Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, JLO, Versace, SYTYCD, DWTS, The Grammy’s, 20+ KPOP projects, TEDx, & multiple collaborations with Wade Robson, Franco Dragone, Kenny Ortega, and the LACMA museum.
His boundaries further expanded after apprenticing with Dimitris Papaioannou, which led him to convert his garage into a blackbox theatre and deepen his experimental roots. This brought forth original short films (DisInteGrated, ORIGIN, ReInteGrated), and photography (GASP gallery LA, Vanity Fair Magazine Italy). Currently he is touring his most ambitious original work to date: the choreographic/photographic/cinematic magnum opus, b1.
Tony is trained in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Partnering, Flamenco, Butoh, and Street Dance. He is a brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner, certified freediver (Fii), & son of a falconer and hairstylist. The eldest of 3 brothers, he was born and raised in Fort Collins, CO.
